The Office of Human Resources and Payroll in the Robert H. Smith School of Business, seeks a Payroll Manager to join our team.

The selected individual will manage payroll functions for the Smith School consisting of over 900+ active employees, including faculty, exempt, non-exempt, GA’s (international and domestic) and student employees. Will also serve as backup to the other two Payroll Managers with a combined budget of over $95 mil. Consult with the various University Human Resources departments to include Payroll, Employment, Benefits, PHR and also consult with Academic Affairs. Will consult with Senior Payroll Manger on special projects.

Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience. The University also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including 22 Days Annual Leave; 15 Days Sick Leave; 3 Days Personal Leave; 15 Paid Holidays; Tuition Remission; Health, Dental, Vision and Prescription coverage.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of payroll experience in an institutional, university, or similar setting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent organizational skills. Proficiency in handling a number of projects simultaneously. Ability to work well under the pressure of deadlines. Must have attention to detail.

Effective interpersonal skills and proven credibility; Strong communication (written and oral) skills; Flexibility to work additional hours as necessary; Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferences: Higher Education experience preferred. Experience working with PHR, WOW, BRIO, Microsoft Excel also preferred. HIPPA certification preferred.
