Job Details

The HR Staffing Director, under the leadership of the HR Talent Management Executive Director, shall serve as a district wide team member to provide HR support to Senior Leadership, Executive Directors, Regional Leadership, Principals, and all other managers within an assigned region or function. The Staffing Director is the lead on all employee actions for the district.

Job Responsibilities 

  1. Establishes and maintains a strong, positive working relationship with school principals and central office staff to support the sourcing, assignment, induction, retention, development and performance of high quality candidates for all positions. 
  2. Participates in the recruitment of staff through job fairs and other recruitment events and collaborates with the recruitment unit on best matches for vacancies.
  3. Supports principals throughout performance management processes and collaborates with Employee Relations staff to ensure effective improvement or exiting of low performing employees. 
  4. Supports principals in the planning for and assignment of staff, including projected vacancies, excess transfer actions, long-term substitute teacher assignments, and other HR implications of the principal’s budgetary and staffing decision making. 
  5. Assist principal in analyzing relevant HR data regarding teacher quality, turnover, absenteeism, and other significant levers in improving workforce excellence. 
  6. Keeps current with school student achievement data to ensure human capital needs are met to continually improve student outcomes. 
  7. Prepares reports for principals and Associate Superintendents to keep them apprised of human capital needs and staffing issues. 
  8. Provides support to principals in staffing issues relates to summer school and Saturday or after school programs as needed. 
  9. Implements screening and selection procedures and finalizes candidate eligibility before final processing. 
  10. Ensures data accuracy of personnel data, organizational charts, and staffing rosters. 
  11. Maintains HR personnel data by initiating all hire, transfer, and separation personnel transactions.
  12. Serves as liaison and support to school secretaries regarding a variety of human resources issues that affect salary and payroll. 
  13. Ensures selected candidates possess all required credentials and pass all prerequisite criteria prior to offer, including GAPSC certification requirements.

Requirements

EDUCATION: 

- Bachelor's Degree required 
- Master's Degree preferred 

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: 

- PHR, SPHR, or School Leadership preferred 

WORK EXPERIENCE: 

- Three or more years of experience in HR or School-Based 
- Experience in an Urban School District preferred 
- Deep knowledge of HR best practices


SALARY GRADE: 135 

SALARY RANGE: $83,567 to $114,906 

WORK YEAR: Annual
