Job Details

This position partners with corporate and plant HR and payroll to analyze work process design and flow, improve processes and leverage the return on technological capabilities. The HRIS Analyst is the Time & Attendance module administrator. This position also assists in building project plans, ensuring adherence to project schedules, maintaining a systems orientation and can work effectively with peers to set technology priorities and conduct long-term planning. This position also serves as a technical point-of-contact for assigned functional area and assists subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Administers the Time & Attendance module of HRIS system

  • Performs system maintenance

  • Documents HRIS processes

  • Provides production support, including researching and resolving problems, unexpected results or process flaws; performs scheduled activities; recommends solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.

  • Manages projects/process improvement

  • Generates reports/queries, including development of standard reports for ongoing customer needs. Helps maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data.

  • Conducts training on Time & Attendance system, including developing user procedures, guidelines and documentation. Trains clients on new processes/functionality. Trains new system users.

  • Maintains awareness of current trends in HRMS through classes, reading, CBTs or other mechanisms, continuously increases both HR knowledge and HRIS application/tools knowledge. Participates in user group meetings/conferences.


Education and/or Experience (minimum required for the position)

Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years HRIS experience with a Time & Attendance system.  Ultimate Software experience preferred.


Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to conduct research and form informational reports and conclusions.

  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems (preferably UltiPro), human resources, and payroll processes.

  • Ability to define and analyze data, establishing criteria, drawing valid conclusions and proposing next steps and/or alternatives.

  • Ability to be results-driven and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple competing deadlines. Excellent organization skills.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally to all levels of organization.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment to perform essential duties.

  • Ability to develop instructions and guidelines to perform functions of the job when necessary.


Physical Demands/Environment:

            This position requires the following physical abilities: to sit; to use hands (to finger, handle, or feel), to reach with hands and arms, to stand, to talk and hear and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. In addition, the specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The work environment is mostly sedentary; however there is occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration and to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Other Requirements:

            There is travel may be required to visit other Akebono facilities, training seminars and therefore ability to drive a motor vehicle is required. Ability to relocate for advancement opportunities is preferred.
