CORE HOURS: 7:30-4:00 pm M-F, year round
SALARY: $60,000-$75,000 DOQ

POSITION PURPOSE

The human resource director is a member of the district administrative team and is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with external legal consultant for more complex cases.

  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.

  • Reviews and makes recommendations to administrative team for improvement of the school’s policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters.  Writes, revises, edits and proofreads policies and procedures and related documents, as needed.

  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to supervisors (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary action).

  • Acts as a resource to human resource generalists to ensure their understanding with benefits and HR policies and regulations.

  • Plans, directs and supervises all activities relating to the administration and maintenance of payroll and employee benefits programs to ensure cost effectiveness, market competitiveness and internal equity among employees.

  • Manage school’s safety efforts, including development of a safety program and serving on the safety committee.

  • Assists with the preparation of the performance review process , disciplinary action procedures, and processing of terminations,.

  • Assists in completion of the strategic plan initiatives.

  • Coordinates the review, preparation and administration of the school’s compensation program.

  • Processes monthly billings from insurance providers. Reviews invoices for accuracy, codes and submits for payment. Resolves discrepancies with carriers.

  • Coordinates and assists with the ACA benefit reporting requirement.

  • Maintains positive, professional relationships and uses appropriate verbal, non-verbal and written communication with all individuals.

  • Regular, prompt attendance.

OTHER POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participation in Lionsgate Academy committees. Attends monthly Governance and school board meetings outside of regular work day.

  • Completes payroll processing, daily generalist activities, and STAR reporting in lieu of assigned employee, as needed

  • Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has direct supervision responsibilities of human resource generalists and serves as a coach and mentor for other positions in the district.

TRAVEL
The human resource position requires on-site availability at all campuses on a rotating basis. All efforts will be made for a consistent schedule at each campus; however, commutes across campuses may be required to complete essential functions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
Five years experience in human resources
Ability to operate a computer and the software necessary to complete the required job tasks

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification
Master’s degree in human resources or related field
Human resource experience in schools or with disability agencies
Three to five years human resource management experience
