Unilever is looking for an experienced HR Lead to join our manufacturing site in Chicago, IL. Who You Are & What You’ll Do

The Human Resources Partner is responsible for all HR-related activity at the site and plays a critical role on the Plant Leadership Team.

You’re a born leader: Support managers and teams in business delivery by enhancing capabilities to deliver objectives, manage people, implement change, and build relationships. Implement team & organizational design solutions; Drive on-going engagement initiatives

You’re a strategy guru: Participate in business planning & ensure alignment of HR delivery to business goals at the site; Deliver HR strategy for the attainment of Unilever Compass Vision and objectives

You’re a dot connector: Further site World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and HR for Factory strategy, particularly training, learning, and educational strategy

You’re a teacher: Collaborate to ensure all employees are aligned effectively to benefit the site; act as a true business partner to personnel on the production floor

You’re a changemaker: Utilize talent development process and tools to provide and develop diverse talent pipelines for short and long term needs. Supervise 1 HR Specialist. Act as a people advocate and bring HR insight on all people related issues

You’re a culture & change champion: Contribute to broader NA Supply Chain team and bring curiosity to drive continuous improvement across the site, network, and broader business.


What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • BA/BS required; MBA or Master’s Degree is desirable.
  • 5+ Years of experience as an HR Manager/HR Lead, with specific experience in employee engagement and change management.
  • Experience driving employee engagement in a factory setting.
  • Knowledge and delivery of Continuous improvement
  • PHR/SPHR, desirable.
  • Leadership capabilities:
  • Energy!
  • Ability to act as a strong leadership partner to factory and factory director
  • Strategy development and execution
