HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

Computer Design & Integration LLC (“CDI”) is seeking a Human Resources Manager in its Teterboro, NJ headquarters location. This is a newly created position, created in line with growth and maturation of our IT infrastructure services company, which specializes in enterprise hybrid cloud, data center, networking, professional consulting and managed services. This position is critical to CDI’s development and growth and will report directly to senior management. In the initial phase, CDI is seeking a candidate to formalize our human resources function, including reviewing all human resources operations, from policy to implementation, to systems and their effective utilization, including all essential human resources responsibilities. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, policy and procedure, benefits structure and management, human capital life cycle management, governmental compliance and reporting, payroll, recruiting and CDI’s community involvement and charitable efforts. CDI is currently in the process of integrating its wholly-owned subsidiary, CDI Managed Services, into our core organization, so this will be an integral initiative for the human resources manager over the first year. CDI currently operates in New York and New Jersey, while its CDI Managed Services team operates in New York, New Jersey and Atlanta primarily. This position may require infrequent travel outside the New York metropolitan area. 

Requirements

The human resource manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function. Essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  1. Develops and administers various human resources plan and procedures for all company personnel.
  2. Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  3. Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness, information activities program and cash flow.
  4. Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  5. Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt, nonexempt and temporary workers; writes and places advertisements; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-path program and employee relations counseling; conducts exit interviews.
  6. Implements and annually updates human capital lifecycle program, owns the onboarding process, participates in compensation program review; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys and develops merit pool (salary budget); analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  7. Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars. Maintains organizational charts and employee directory. 
  8. Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
  9. Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws.
This full-time position, available immediately, will report to the COO. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position may require long hours and infrequent weekend work. This job operates in a professional office environment.
 
The candidate should have excellent communication skills and an ability to work with employees in difficult and unusual circumstances. High ethical standards, discretion and confidentiality are three core requirements as are the ability to perform critical evaluations quickly, act decisively, engage with senior management on a regular basis and lead in all aspects of human resources within CDI.

Compensation
 
Commensurate with experience, excellent benefits package commences at start of employment.

Travel
 
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Required Education and Experienc
 
A bachelor's degree and five years of human resource experience, or nine years of experience in the HR field.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
 
1. SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential.
2. Experience working in and/or understanding of the Information Technology industry is a bonus
