Provincial Human Resources Administrator Position Summary:

This newly created role is a full-time salaried position with benefits and reports to the Provincial Elders’ Conference President. This person will be responsible for non- clergy, HR related policies, procedures, and operational matters within the MCSP (Moravian Church in America, Southern Province).He/she will coordinate and regularly communicate with church province as a whole.  This is a 40 hour per week position, but not a traditional 8 am to 5 pm schedule.  Days and hours of work need to accommodate interaction with the province’s schedule including evening and weekend meetings.  This position is based out of the Winston-Salem, NC area.


Positions Responsibilities:

  • Partner with leadership to determine the issues related to risk management, compliance, training, administration, operations, hiring, performance management, technology, and record keeping practices for staff and volunteers

  • Partner with leadership to develop, implement, adopt, and ensure compliance with operational policies and procedures that demonstrate the values of the MCSP

  • Serve as the point of contact for HR questions and matters in the MCSP

  • Orientation and training for staff, new board members, and volunteers including, but not limited to, individual data capture, drug test, background check, new employee training and safety, employee handbook, administration handbook, and benefit/insurance enrollment

  • Liaise with HR vendors, including benefit and insurance entities

  • Reporting and audit preparation

  • Travel to the various locations associated with the MCSP (limited overnight travel and day trips expected)






  • A minimum of 2 years’ recent experience in:

    • HR administration, policies, procedures, compliance, and communication

    • Staffing

    • Employee orientation and training

    • Safety and risk management

    • Benefit administration

  • Project management or process improvement experience

  • Experience preparing presentations in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

  • Deliver presentations and facilitate effective meetings with all levels of an organization


    Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with a faith based, nonprofit, volunteer driven, or similar organization

  • A minimum of 4 years’ recent experience in HR administration and compliance

  • Undergraduate degree

  • Experience utilizing HR related technology

  • Skilled communicator, particularly connecting actions with the mission

  • Demonstrated history of collaboration, fairness, and firmness while reconciling multiple viewpoints
