What You Will Do

The ideal candidate is an energetic self-starter who is ready to lead, develop, and implement initiatives that align with our business strategy and promote company values and culture.  The Human Resource and Operations Manager will be responsible for the overall administration of the human resources function and office management.  Additionally, he or she will work closely with operations management to improve overall operations of the company.  Below is a list of the primary responsibilities; however this list is non-exhaustive and we require a team member who will “roll up their sleeves” and get the job done in a great and highly collaborative team environment. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage employee relations.
  • Oversee recruiting, hiring, and termination processes, including onboarding and exit interviews. 
  • Analyze turnover, identify trends, and provide actionable items to increase retention.
  • Lead the employee performance review process.  
  • Actively manage compensation, including analyzing employee salaries against industry benchmarks.
  • Working together with professional staff, develop, implement, and execute employee training programs.
  • Perform an annual review of the benefit programs to identify and procure the most cost-effective benefit packages and direct the annual renewal process.
  • Process bi-weekly and ad-hoc payroll.
  • Administer the 401K program and other fringe benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state employment laws.
  • Maintain employee handbook.
  • Complete federal, state, and local forms and filings.
  • Work with administrative group to coordinate corporate insurance.
  • Supervise interns and other administrative staff.
  • Collaborate with operations management to effectively manage engagement staffing requirements and maximize consultant utilization.
  • Track HR and operational metrics and deliver real time data and analysis to management to assist in strategic business decisions.
  • Coordinate with the finance department to prepare forecasts of salaries, fringe benefits, and insurance costs.
  • Participate in monthly management meetings.
  • Participate in the management of firm-wide communications.
  • Collaborate with admin team to supervise the organization and execution of company events.
  • Oversee general office management.
  • Perform other tasks as needed to manage the human resources department and operations of the company.

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • 5 - 8 years of experience in a human resources position with management experience a plus.
  • A degree in Human Resources or related field is a plus.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • Working knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with employees and management in a professional and engaging manner.
  • Capacity to  manage multiple projects, and respond to changing priorities.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate high professional and ethical standards.
  • Self-motivating, a strong work ethic, and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to think critically and deliver well-developed ideas and solutions for management consideration.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience with Paychex a plus.
