Salary: $15.00/hour minimum depending upon qualifications

The Park Ridge Park District has a temporary job opportunity to work on a special project in the HR department.

This position is responsible for reviewing an inventory of highly confidential personnel documents to determine the preservation or disposal of records in accordance with the Local Records Act.  Will review personnel files, identify various document types and subject matter used in human resources and determine the appropriate placement of records.  Under the supervision of the HR Director, determines the necessity of archiving records according to best practices and follow guidelines in accordance with the Local Records Act.  Will create an inventory data base summarizing required personnel data.  Selected individual will physically box records and make arrangements to have them moved to a record retention area.  Although this job will not require regular physical lifting of boxes containing records, it will require regular standing, squatting and bending to access file cabinets and some occasional lifting of boxes.


One to two years’ administrative experience in the human resources arena or related field.   Basic skills in Microsoft Office software and an intermediate level written and verbal communication in the English language.  

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in human resources or currently enrolled in an undergraduate program progressing toward a Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field.


Availability:  This assignment is estimated to last up to ten (10) weeks.  Core hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm for about 35 daytime hours per week, however we can be flexible to accommodate less or varied hours.
