Loudoun County Government, located in Leesburg, Virginia, is seeking an energetic, self-motivated, highly qualified Benefits Specialist to join the Department of Human Resources.

What You Will Do

As a Benefits Specialist you will support the administration of the County’s employee and retiree benefit programs. The duties of the position are detail-oriented, deadline driven and time sensitive. Specifically, this position will administer the employee benefits program to include: process on-line benefit enrollments and make determinations on qualifying events for health plan enrollments, review dependent eligibility, process weekly benefit interface files and payroll deductions; perform program audits; initiate claims payment funding and process vendor invoices for administrative services; reconciliation and reporting to the Virginia Retirement System.

Hiring Range: $41,598-$59,592. Recruitment #17-S255-1114.

What You Will Need

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field, and two (2) years of direct experience in health plan administration. Microsoft office software proficiency and basic accounting principles needed.

A successful candidate must have comprehensive knowledge of related health and welfare federal law and IRC Section 125 guidelines; exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to deliver effective communications for new hire orientation, open enrollment presentations and newsletter development. HRIS / payroll experience a plus.
