Elior North America is looking for an innovative and motivated Human Resources Business Partner to work in the Roseville office.

Position Summary:

The Human Resource Business Partner is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level while aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units and providing direct support to the Sr Director of Human Resources. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, training, performance management, succession planning, onboarding support, providing policy implementation, recruitment/employment support, and ensuring affirmative action and employment law compliance. Additionally, the HRBP assesses and anticipates HR needs

serving as a consultant to the business.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  •  Handles complex employee relations issues, including counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements for all aspects of human resource, thus reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Manage the employment and onboarding process, including the following: posting and distribution of open positions, assist field with writing and placing advertisements, facilitation of pre-employment background screening and drug testing (where

applicable), and assistance with on-boarding, new employee orientation, and designated training.

  • Administers the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  • Provides day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, career development, and disciplinary actions).
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit structures, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Identifies training needs and works with the business unit and corporate training to meet training objectives.
  • Assists in the development of the affirmative action program; filing of the annual EEO-1 report; administers other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Works closely with the business to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase retention.
  • Assist with updating and distributing company forms and templates associated with Human Resource functions, including the maintenance of employment files, both active and terminated.
  • As needed, assists with the administration of leave requests, including Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), State Leaves, ADA and WC compliance.
  • May handle some union relations issues, including grievances and arbitration preparation.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree and 4 – 6 years’ human resource experience, or a master’s degree in human resource management and three years’ experience in the HR field, or eight years of experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting over 300 employees.
  • Service industry experience preferred, preferably in multi-location organizations.
  • Demonstrated considerable knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • Solid working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including but not limited to: compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, and performance management.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate well to individuals and groups with widely varying backgrounds, perspectives, education, and skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent work record, superior communication, both oral and written, cooperation, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills.
  • Self-starter and problem-solver.
