We are moving the HQ from Itasca to 8750 W. Bryn Mawr in Chicago in 2018. It will be a short walk from the Blue Line at Cumberland and the Kennedy.

The Human Resources Consultant will participate in the development of Human Resources strategies, facilitate the delivery and execution of HR initiatives and consult to business managers and senior management on employee relations issues for our Commercial Banking lines of business. You will provide support for change management initiatives and contribute to the delivery of HR solutions.  We are looking for someone with skills in providing HR guidance at a commercial financial services industry or at least to leadership at the corporate level, a sales, or professional services organizations.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Knowledge and Consulting:

  • Works with the HR Leadership and assigned business unit(s) leaders to develop and deploy all aspects of effective workforce planning, talent pipeline requirements, compensation and benefits, employee development, and talent acquisition to meet business unit talent needs.
  • Communicates, and consults on the needs of the business unit related to the HR functions (Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Organizational and Training Development, Diversity & Inclusion, Employee Engagement, and Strategic Programs). Works with Senior Human Resources Consultant and Business Unit Leaders to implement and deploy solutions. Conducts follow-up with business leaders to ensure solutions are sustainable.
  • Consults with business leaders to identify gaps in existing HR policies and programs; contributes to the development of new/amended HR policies and procedures, and facilitate delivery.
  • In coordination with business leaders, provides counsel to managers on implementing pay for performance decisions during annual performance management, employee development and compensation review processes.
  • Together with the Senior Manager, Business Unit Partner and Senior Human Resources Consultant, consults and works with HR functional groups to design required interventions in support of business units.

Employee Relations:

  • Ensures positive employee relations with business leaders; proactively diagnoses employee relations/team issues and develops recommendations /action plans to address;
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations
  • Maintains current in-depth knowledge of standards and legislations related to day to day management of employees, reducing employment legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies.

Requirements

  • Eight or more years of increasing human resources experience with business leaders for commercial finance, corporate, professional services or sales organizations required
  • Experience with Commercial Lending/Financing industry is preferred
  • Proven ability to consult, interact and support senior business leaders and professionals
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable laws including HR policies and practices
  • Effective verbal and written communication and organizational skills required
  • Skills with analyzing trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies
  • Great record of building positive work relationships and influential leadership skills required
  • Position may require the need to travel to other branch or meeting locations in the NE Illinois area.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP and Master’s degree preferred
