Our Madison office is growing so we are looking for a Human Resources Coordinator to join the team.


Working with us, you will:

  • Assist with recruiting including resume management/applicant tracking, screening, and interview scheduling.
  • Perform new hire orientation and coordinate onboarding of new employees.
  • Enter, maintain and audit employee information in our HRIS database and generate and compile reports as needed.
  • Assist with the administration of the summer internship program.
  • Perform benefits and payroll administration to include enrollment of new benefits, claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating information to employees and candidates.
  • Provide customer service for employees on benefits, payroll, employment law issues, company policies, etc.
  • Maintain electronic employee personnel files.
  • Support office training coordination efforts.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Assist with the maintenance and development of health and wellness programs for office.
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.

An ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management with 1 - 3 years HR related experience or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

  • Strong attention to detail and have excellent interpersonal skills. 

  • Sensitivity towards confidential information.  

  • Ability to set priorities, multitask and work independently.

  • Proficiency in HRIS system is preferred; Microsoft Office and strong computer literacy is required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work with clients and colleagues at all levels.

SmithGroupJJR offers competitive compensation and an excellent benefit package, including 401(k) and continuing educational reimbursement. We offer 3 weeks of paid time off within the first year of employment, with the option of purchasing additional time off, and pay for 8 federal holidays. We also offer an alternative work schedule that provides employees with an additional 15 days off per year (usually Fridays) to help with work/life balance.
