JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title:     Human Resources Coordinator

Department:      Human Resources

Reports to:       Executive Director of Human Resources and Student Services

                       Attorney for the District

FLSA Class:         Exempt

SUMMARY

To assist the Executive Director of Human Resources and Student Services and the Attorney for the District in managing and coordinating employment and labor relations matters for the District, promoting Unit 5 as a positive workplace, and developing an educational environment conducive to a positive learning experience for all Unit 5 students.

 DUTIES

  1. Assist with the application, interview, and hiring process for all District employees.
  2. Assist with the management and coordination of all benefits.
  3. Maintain records of all contract revisions, leaves, employee contracts, and confirmation letters.
  4. Assist with the management of the staff database and all early retirement records, seniority lists, and coursework additions, and transcripts.
  5. Assist with employment verification tasks.
  6. Manage the processing of all resignations, retirements, and terminations.
  7. Assist with ensuring all employee handbooks and job descriptions are current.
  8. Assist with reduction in force/staff initiatives as well as releases and transfers.
  9. Prepare personnel pages for all Board meetings and conduct RIF surveys and salary schedule studies.
  10. Assist with the management of all attendance boundaries, exceptions, open attendance, redistricting, and tuition arrangements.
  11. Maintain attendance records and create all state attendance reports.
  12. Track and report student enrollment monthly.
  13. Promote Unit 5 as a positive work place for all employees and conduct areas studies to ensure the District is a preferred employer.
  14. Maintain records of all evaluations.
  15. Assist with the resolution of employment and labor concerns consistent with Board policy, collective bargaining agreements, state and federal law.
  16. Participate in contract grievance meetings as needed.
  17. Coordinate the recruitment of new teachers and staff in conjunction with the Executive Director of Human Resources and Student Services.
  18. Coordinate HumanEx Ventures screening of teacher applicants.
  19. Assist in the completion of various reports and projects, including but not limited to the Civil Rights Data Collection, ROE Compliance Review, Teacher Service Record and Title IX.
  20. Assist with coursework additions and transcripts.
  21. Coordinate mentoring and induction program for new teachers.
  1. Assist with the planning and organization of compliance trainings for employees and coaches.
  2. Promote Unit 5 as a positive work place for all employees and conduct areas studies to ensure the District is a preferred employer.
  3. All other duties as assigned.

 

 

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree.
  2. SHRM-SCP Certification.
  3. Five (5) yrs. experience in Human Resources.
  4. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  5. Professional image, actions, communications and working relationships are required at all times.
  6. Able to perform job duties at assigned work location on a regular and consistent basis.
