ROLE: As a human resources development partner with the leadership team, this position is focused on improving the success of our business and satisfaction of our customers, both internal and external, through management of the Human Resource and Talent Development Function. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: talent assessment, talent development,  talent acquisition, benefit administration, employee relations, onboarding, policy implementation, and employment law compliance. The position is located in our Houston, TX office and supports our regionally distributed workforce of nearly 1,600 employees and growing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads talent acquisition, talent assessment, and talent development and performance management processes,. Partners with Sr. Management to drive development, training and succession.
  • Develops and administers employee relations policies, procedures, and programs designed to maintain a high level of productivity, employee stability, and employee/management relations; ensures the proper application and interpretation of established policies.
  • Performs salary administration, to include maintaining confidential salary records; administering wage and salary programs including wage/salary/benefit improvement recommendations and local surveys; preparation of wage proposal; coordinating performance appraisal and salary reviews.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains employee communication programs and is the lead person in resolving employee relations matters that may involve federal and state legislation, safety, EEO, workers compensation, and unemployment claims.
  • Responsible for administration of benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, STD, LTD, Group Life, HSA, 401K Retirement plans.
  • Responsible for all employment activities during the entire life cycle

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • A BA/BS degree in Human Resources Management or related field strongly preferred;
  • 8+ years of experience in a Human Resources Management Role, SPHR or PHR preferred;
  • Must have a thorough understanding of applicable employment laws including FMLA, ADAA, FLSA, ADEA, and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act in addition to applicable state employment laws;
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft applications & HRIS platforms; strong preference for experience with ADP’s HR & Benefit modules (Workforce now) and other related HR applications;
  • Strong analytical, and detail-oriented skills
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Ability to analyze data and make quality decisions
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage confidential information
  • Acts in an ethical and truthful manner, leading by example and earning the trust of colleagues, employees and stakeholders.
