T. H. Easter Consulting has been retained to conduct an Executive search for a passionate, creative and forward-thinking Human Resources Director Consultant. This role is with an aspiring institution in the D.C. area.  The successful incumbent will provide daily guidance and HR support to the organization and its HR team as strategic business partners. Business Partner support will include change management, coaching, employee relations, recruiting/staffing, organizational effectiveness and development and first line support for compensation and benefits questions.

  • To act as HR single point of contact and strategic business partner.
  • Consults with management on business and performance needs.
  • Serves as an advocate for the employee, management, and the Company by being available to meet with consultants/employees to address concerns, develop and explain HR policies/practices, and mediate differences between employees, leads and managers.
  • Provides advice and counsel in the use of corrective actions to address job performance and other behavioral issues.
  • Provide counsel and foster a partnership with hiring managers to secure the best talent.
  • Partners with training resources to ensure appropriate employee and leadership development/succession planning.
  • Makes judgments and takes actions to recommend changes to HR practices and policies.
  • Monitors trends in employee relations and recruiting.
  • Participates in developing process for assessing organizational strengths and susceptibilities and for recommending organizational solutions.
  • Partners in the development of leaders/teams through organization-wide change interventions.
  • Partners with management to identify performance needs and design interventions to close gaps.
  • Provides counseling and coaching to all levels to ensure Diversity and Work/Life initiatives are effectively integrated with strategic business objectives.
  • Responsible for assigned company-wide projects.
  • Serves in a lead role in executing organization-wide initiatives.
  • Serves in a project role capacity for employee survey and other key projects.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, industrial relations, organizational development or related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in at least 2 areas: leadership development, human resources, internal consulting, employee relations, and/or recruiting.
  • 8+ years of human resources experience with at least 4 years in employee relations.
  • HR leadership experience
  • Ability to multi-task, handling a number of projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated customer focus and awareness of the importance of the customer in a similar service organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to select, organize, lead, participate, and facilitate a team to produce results.
  • Strong results orientation required.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Change Management and Conflict Management training delivery and facilitation


  • A thorough understanding of one or more of the following specialties: organization development, change management, management coaching, communication, and/or manager/supervisor/employee development programs, employee relations and recruiting.
  • Strong coaching, communication and interpersonal effectiveness skill set.
  • Excellent facilitation skills
  • Past experience with leadership development/competency based program development.
  • Experience in competency-based assessment and selection.
  • Understanding of job/role design and workflow processes.
  • Prior Business Partner experience.
  • Strong coaching, communication and interpersonal effectiveness skill set.
  • Organizational Development Certification.
  • Master’s Degree in business, industrial psychology, human resources or other applicable field of study, or J.D.

This is an independent contractor role (1099), and the successful encumbent will be on assignment for 6 -12 months.  We will be considering qualified candidates through 11/01/17 and look forward to reviewing your resume.
