Job Details

The City of Pittsburg is accepting applications for a full time Human Resources Director. This position plans, organizes and directs the activities of the City’s Human Resources Division.  Duties include employee recruitment and selection, job classifications, employee benefits, occupational safety and health, and organizational development and training. This position also handles employee relations, equal employment law compliance and coordinates assigned activities with other city departments, divisions and external agencies. 

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in public, personnel or business administration, or a related field.  A Master’s degree is preferred.  Applicants should have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in all phases of public or private sector personnel administration including three (3) years of progressively responsible supervisory experience. The Human Resources Director will be required to reside within an eight mile radius from the intersection of Fourth Street and Broadway Street in the City.  Residency shall be established within sixty days of hire.
