JCCS Certified Public Accountants and Business Advisors is looking for a motivated Human Resources Director to join the team in the Whitefish office.


The HR Director’s job entails providing practical, consistent, and proactive support, direction and advice to the management of JCCS regarding HR procedure, policy, best practice, employment rewards, benefits and legislation to facilitate in achieving the objectives of JCCS. The HR Director performs human resources functions related to recruitment, hiring, training, compensation, promotion, termination, career development and retirement.  The HR Director also develops and maintains personnel policies, policy manuals and employee handbook as required.

  1. Developing and leading the recruitment strategy for the firm including building and maintaining relationships with candidate referral sources including college professors, head hunters and employment search companies.

  2. Providing guidance and direction to the management team on salary levels for existing and prospective staff consistent with industry benchmarks and market conditions.

  3. Assist with the hiring process including identifying potential candidates, participating in the interview process and the evaluation of candidates.

  4. Maintaining a collaborative relationship with office managers and employees including routinely travelling to all office locations.

  5. Conducting new employee orientation program, managing the employee mentor program and working in conjunction with the Chief Learning Officer to support all other training & learning programs firm-wide.

  6. Work with firm management on the selection, development, implementation and maintenance of the firm’s performance evaluation system.

  7. Setting high standards and principles, providing proactive solutions, guidance, and advice to managers on grievance, attendance, disciplinary and performance issues.

  8. Identifying practical solutions to complex and diverse HR issues and recommending appropriate action plans.

  9. Providing coaching to managers on difficult and complex issues and assisting in responding to and resolving all employee complaints.

  10. Collecting ongoing information regarding employee satisfaction with salary packages, working conditions, etc.

  11. Leading the firm’s safety & wellbeing programs.

  12. Maintaining personnel policies, policy manuals and employee handbooks including utilizing outside resources and networks in order to monitor developing issues and potential changes in employment and related law.

  13. Administering all firm benefits programs and packages.

  14. Ensuring the maintenance of all payroll data and personnel files.

  15. Performs other duties, responsibilities and activities as assigned.  





    Minimum Education:                Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Administration, Business Administration, or related field. SPHR or SHRM-SCP designation preferred.


    Minimum Experience:              5 years’ experience in a mid-size office, in an accounting firm or a similar work environment.  


    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:      Pragmatic problem solving skills, articulate communicator and ability to convey difficult and challenging information to managers, high standard of attention to detail, solid commitment to employee service, proficient in Microsoft Office and other software programs, ability to manage time and prioritize work.
