General Job Description

 

MPR is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to become an integral member of a small HR team. Responsibilities are varied, but will primarily be focused on these functional areas: recruitment, employee relations, employment law compliance, onboarding, and performance management. This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated individual that takes ownership of their tasks to develop a broad range of HR experience with a team of highly motivated employees. Responsibilities of this position are complex, requiring a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, independent judgment, and initiative. This is a full time, exempt position in MPR’s Alexandria, VA, office.


 

Recruitment

 

  • Review and screen applications and resumes, interview applicants and refer candidates for additional interviewers and selection

  • Maintain the Applicant Tracking System (iCIMS) and make recommendations to improve functionality

  • Maintain recruitment files and ensure OFFCP compliance

  • Partner with recruiting agencies as appropriate

  • Engage with the marketing department to develop social media strategies focused on recruitment

 

Employee Relations

 

  • Provide counseling to employees in a wide variety of areas

  • Advise and interpret policies for employees

  • Assist with social functions and other HR-sponsored activities related to recognition and morale.

 

Employment Law Compliance

 

  • Prepare annual EEO-1 survey and VETS-4212 report

  • Support efforts in preparing and completing the annual Affirmative Action Plan

 

Onboarding

 

  • Manage new hire process from offer acceptance through new hire orientation

 

Performance Management

 

  • Coordinate the performance evaluation program and complete annual salary surveys

Requirements

Education / Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus

Experience


  • We prefer three or more years experience in a Human Resources Generalist role with a solid background in employee relations, recruiting and onboarding as well as employment law compliance

Skills – Software

 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Prior experience with a Human Resources Information System is preferred
  • Prior experience with an Applicant Tracking System is preferred
