SUMMARY

The HR Generalist will contribute to a range of human resources programs including recruitment and selection, onboarding, benefits administration, performance management, wellness, and records management. Supports the growth of the organization by streamlining overall recruitment efforts and works closely with the Director of Talent to continue to improve upon existing programs while implementing new programs to support the dynamic needs of a growing organization.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports the overall recruitment and selection process by drafting and placing advertisements, conducting candidate sourcing, scheduling and interviewing candidates, managing candidate correspondence, ordering background investigations, and conducting reference checking when needed. Collaborates with employment agencies as needed. Conducts analyses and provides suggestions for new methods of sourcing regularly
  • Works closely with Director of Talent to identify solutions to support the needs of a growing organization
  • Recommends and composes new policies as needed; updates Employee Handbook
  • Ensures the accurate completion of new hire paperwork
  • Develops, revises, schedules, and conducts orientation sessions
  • Facilitates the annual job description review process
  • Plays a key role in benefits open enrollment by updating online enrollment system, coordinating with broker, preparing materials for employees, and conducting training
  • Assists with performance management process including communicating with managers to ensure timeline is adhered to and midyear and annual appraisals are submitted on time
  • Works closely with Director of Talent to schedule and coordinate logistics for training programs
  • Responds to employee inquiries on human resources programs
  • Develops and coordinates wellness initiatives
  • Files all appropriate paperwork in employee personnel records
  • Files annual reports as required by law to include EEO-1 and OSHA
  • Tracks and processes departmental invoices; conducts invoice audits to verify charges; reports and tracks benefit changes to vendors monthly to ensure accurate billing
  • Tracks all charges made to the department credit card and prepares expense reports
  • Provides administrative, special project support, and other duties as assigned

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, psychology or a related field along with a minimum of four years of human resources administrative experience required. PHR or SHRM-CP preferred. Knowledge of employment law and general HR practices as well as practical experience recruiting and administering benefits is required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio). Experience presenting in small groups and one-on-one settings is desired.

Ability to apply knowledge and principals of HR functions to solve problems and effectively address situations. Must use independent judgment and discretion to determine or recommend best course of action. Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Must be able to interface effectively at all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing. Outstanding attention to detail and follow-up is essential. Ability to be flexible and handle stressful situations is essential. Ability to maintain confidentiality with regard to sensitive issues and personnel files/documents is required. Ability to take the initiative on assigned projects/tasks and work with minimal supervision.
