Job Details

The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with management to support their departmental needs. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance. In addition, this position provides direct administrative support to the General Manager/COO.

  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
  • Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals
  • Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan
  • Enters personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, pay increases, and terminations into payroll system
  • Coordinates trainings for management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment
  • Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and vision insurances, 401(k)
  • Performs certain administrative duties for the General Manager
  • Maintain all office files and notebooks for the General Manager
  • Attend all Board meetings to record minutes
  • Maintain records of all Board meetings and Committee meeting information
  • Attend all meetings and take minutes for various Committees

Education and/or Experience:

Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to consistently meet/exceed time deadlines

  • Excellent listening and verbal skills
