Falcon Steel America, LLC is seeking a Bilingual Human Resources Generalist to office at our Kaufman Plant in Kaufman, Texas.

JOB SUMMARY

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with human resources management in supporting designated geographic region. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration assistance; employee relations; training; performance management; recruitment/employment; on-boarding; policy implementation; recruitment/employment; employment law compliance; human resources service management; and, assistance with worker injury claims management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Administers various human resource programs and procedures for designated region; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; and assists drafting revisions to the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.

2. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.

3. Supports recruitment process for all exempt and nonexempt personnel for Kaufman location, students and temporary employees, including but not limited to: writing and placing advertisement, screening applications, onboarding, and conducting new-employee orientations.

4. Addresses performance management issues, including but not limited to, employee relations counseling, coaching, evaluations, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing. This includes managing and tracking all employee disciplinary actions for assigned geographic location.

5. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.

6. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.

7. Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.

8. Ability to develop and maintain affirmative action program and file EEO-1 report annually.

9. Maintains and processes all unemployment notices of entitlement and potential charges in a timely, effective manner. Attends unemployment hearings when necessary.

10. Represents management in assisting with investigating complaints; answering and settling grievances; and, hearing concerns in accordance with company policy and/or departmental standard operating procedures.

11. Maintains and coordinates employee recognition and birthday programs for designated geographic location.

12. Facilitates or provides training (including orientation) to the workforce.

13. Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals.

14. Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.

15. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but have indirect responsibility, and serves as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones. This position may have to walk-through the fabrication plant to meeting with employees, tour the facility, and/or provide training and development to employees. Must be able to squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, and walk on rough ground. May be exposed to the following in the plant: changes in temperature and humidity; exposure to dust, fumes, or gases; and, moving equipment

Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor's Degree plus two (2) to four (4) years of Human Resources’ experience, or a Master's Degree in Human Resources Management plus two (2) years of experience in the Human Resources field, or similar combination of education and experience. Must be Bilingual - Read, Write, and Speak Spanish. SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential preferred. Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
