Job Details

University of the West, located in the city of Rosemead, is looking for an experienced individual to hold the position of HR Generalist. The candidate will execute a variety of HR policies and processes, including recruitment, orientation, retention, performance management, employee development and training, compensation and benefits for faculty, staff and volunteers. This position will work closely with management to help increase effectiveness through human capital development and recognition.

 

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Management, Business Management or related area of study.
  • A minimum of 3 years of related experience required.  Experience with an institute of higher learning preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of applicable HR-related regulations and practices.
  • Ability to establish credibility and trust effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse international community.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with tact and diplomacy.
  • Excellent oral, written, listening, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in training, customer service and consulting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and preferably, Powerpoint.
