Job Details

  • Coach and guide leadership team on employee relations issues.
  • Provide leadership development and coaching to managers to assist in building bench strength.
  • Provide performance management advice to leadership team on various teammate performance issues including overseeing and approving corrective actions and performance evaluations to ensure compliance with company policy and company culture.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with applicable federal and state laws
  • Provide support on Affirmative Action Program and ensure compliance in good faith efforts. Ensure that the McLane Company employment process is carried out within legal guidelines and that each applicant is treated fairly and consistently.
  • Manage the recruiting function from start to finish, including recruiting, interviewing, pre-employment process and onboarding.
  • Coordinate and attend career fairs, receive, review, and screen applications and resumes, communicate application status to applicants, check references and verify previous employment.
  • Track retention, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Serve as teammate advocate on issues and provide support in our open door policy. Participate in safety reviews and various teammate committees meetings.
  • Assist and facilitate various training programs in order to comply with McLane Company training practices and federal laws.
  • Facilitate mandatory harassment/substance abuse training, safety, and arrange special classes for teammates.
  • Coordinate special events such as: CMN, United Way, teammate events, etc.
  • Share in responsibility for maintaining teammate morale through open lines of communication and policy interpretation. Maintain connectivity by actively participating in warehouse days and route rides.
  • Coordinate teammate meetings, assist in the facilitation of New Hire Orientation, and interact daily with teammates and managers.
  • Support HR Manager as needed.


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field

  • Have 2+ years experience, working knowledge of Human Resources.

  • Ability to manage various responsibilities and multiple projects independently 

  • Hands on experience in training and coaching in a diverse environment.

  • Working knowledge of various office automation tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and others

    as required.

  • Ability to identify and work through problems and conflicting issues in a clear and

    diplomatic manner.

  • Focused ability to review and interpret data, transactions, policies, and business practices.

  • Effective communication skills (verbally and written) with teammates at all levels.

  • Ability to work in diverse and fast paced environment.

  • Detail oriented and ability to produce quality work consistently

  • Strong commitment to safeguarding the organization’s future success.

  • Ability to make sound decisions that have a positive impact on bottom line.
