As a dynamic and versatile senior HR professional you will have a comprehensive skill set that quickly enables you to establish effective working relationships across the entire organisation on topics that span the full HR spectrum on both a local and international level. 

As part of URENCO’s global shared services HR function, you will be based in Eunice, New Mexico leading a focused HR team that supports the delivery of the local people agenda.   Reporting to the CHRO, and supported by Group Compensation & Benefits and Learning & Development you will work in direct partnership with the site leadership team, proactively, and intuitively, delivering business focused HR solutions.

Key duties and responsibilities …..


Actively contribute, as part of the senior HR team, to the development and deployment of a viable long-term strategy and shorter term operational plans, that will enable the organisation to deploy resources necessary for it to respond to internal and external pressures, performs and achieve its objectives.

  • Supports the strategies and plans of the business within the appropriate HR framework, best practice policies and procedures
  • Drive delivery of the HR strategy and translate into local goals and operating plans
  • Provide robust management information & data to support informed decision making
  • HR policy and procedures are legislatively compliant and enhance business performance
  • Leaders provided with high quality specialist advice on people related issues
  • Active and visible coach to leaders

Drive URENCO’s talent management strategy through attraction, management, succession and development in a resource efficient manner.


  • Work in partnership with Leaders, L&D Manager and L&D professionals to identify current and future resource and talent levels across the organisation.
  • Leaders supported in identifying learning and development solutions which provide employees with the skills, knowledge and expertise necessary to demonstrate competence, and support the achievement of business goals.
  • Organisational design is fit to deliver strategic business initiatives

Work closely with Business Leaders to ensure that they have the correct tools, analytics and capabilities to manage organisational change programmes

  • Leads transformation programmes to improve organisational effectiveness
  • Change programmes (e.g. redundancy / TUPE) are carried out in accordance with best practice and employment law
  • Terms and conditions of employment meet organisation business plans

Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives across the business to drive sustainable performance.  


Integrate, align and cooperate with other business functions to manage compliance and business efficiency.


  • Employee Engagement initiatives are benchmarked and in line with best practice
  • Biannual Company Employee Surveys undertaken and plans implemented
  • Leaders coached to understand how to engage teams and individuals

Lead the HR Team to ensure its service delivery is of a high standard, aligned to Group objectives and adheres to best practice 

  • Guide the activities of the HR team to deliver effective and value-add operational support to the business
  • HR measures and key performance indicators ensure HR delivers the maximum contribution to business performance
  • Service providers managed in line with contractual commitments

Site specific duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee an affirmative action program in accordance with the Company’s Diversity Policy.  Specifically filing EEO-1 annually; maintaining all records as required by regulation, reporting and log completion that conform to all EEO and/or OFCCP regulations
  • Manage the internship program as well as the intern recruiting and selection process



Job Requirements (Experience and qualifications needed)


  • Educated to degree level and with further qualifications in Human Resources
  • A PHR or SPHR certification
  • At least 8-10 years’ experience working as a senior HR leader managing a team within a matrix environment.   Nuclear experience is not essential however candidates should have manufacturing/operations experience.
  • Significant experience working for  international organisations, ideally delivering HR solutions across geographical boundaries.
  • Proven track record of contributing to the business agenda
  • Political and stakeholder management experience.   Strong intellect and personal credibility, direct, candid and open style with excellent communications skills
  • Experience of leading organisational change projects
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skill set - able to effectively develop and implement change
