Job Details

The City of Manassas Park is seeking a skilled HR Manager with extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of human resources. The HR Manager is responsible for the overall direction, leadership, management, and administration of the Human Resources Department.  In-depth knowledge of employment laws and human resources regulations and practices is required.  The HR Manager must be able to effectively function as a one-person department while providing sound­­­­ advice to the City Manager, Department Directors, and staff on a complex assortment of HR issues and initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a collaborative approach and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff. He/she must be personable and approachable, and have the ability to build strong working relationships throughout the City.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related business field; or any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Minimum 8-10 years of progressively responsible human resources management experience, preferably in the public sector.  Valid driver’s license and criminal background check required.  A Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check will be made to determine acceptance of past driving records.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook).
