Mark Twain Medical Center opened on August 26, 1951 and is located in beautiful San Andreas California. The Manager of Human Resources provides management and direction of Human Resources functions for a 48-bed hospital and its clinics, and additional services including recruitment, training, benefits, compensation, Workers' Compensation, employee relations/labor relations and other Human Resources responsibilities in support of Mark Twain Medical Center. 

The Manager of Human Resources maintains linkage between education and employee health functions. Provides and coordinates services between Mark Twain Medical Center, Dignity Health and other entities as needed. 


Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Serves as the Human Resources professional to all employees throughout the hospital and clinics.
  • Coordinates recruitment/employee activities. Conducts pre-employment sessions and Human Resources aspects of sessions. Processes new hire information. Tracks 90-day provisional, termination and transfer statistics for Turnover Report required by JACHO for Board presentation annually. Conducts employment orientation as required.
  • Assists Chief Financial Officer with management aspects of payroll/timekeeping function as well as HRIS data entry.
  • Supervises the Human Resources employees
  • Labor contract administration, resolution of grievances and other aspects of labor relations.
  • Coordinates Leave of Absence process.
  • Coordinates Workers' Compensation process.
  • Maintains comprehensive Human Resource and training records as required by regulatory agencies, JACHO and other organizations.
  • Coordinates employee recreational program.
  • Advises and assists President and Administrative Team in Human Resources policy development and other activities.
  • Monitors Performance appraisal process and prepares reports as needed.
  • Performs other duties consistent with providing Human Resources support for Mark Twain Medical Center employees.
  • Exhibits and leads all employees through Human Resources functions.
  • Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
  • Minimum of five years Human Resources experience, preferably in a health care setting as a generalist 
  • BA/BS degree graduate degree in business or related area preferred, but will consider extensive experience in these core areas: Employee benefits, Compensation, Employee relations, HRIS, Recruitment. 
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills 
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office 
  • Knowledgeable in labor laws and payroll practices 
  • Ability to communicate verbally with employees, patients and applicants of various cultural and educational backgrounds. 
  •  Ability to work independently and efficiently with all levels of employees and applicants.
  • Ability to convey a positive and professional image 
  • Demonstrated successful experience in budget preparation/operation 
  • Able to prioritize workload 
  • Excellent organization and customer contact skills.
