Sturm, Ruger & Co. Inc. a leading manufacturer of sporting and firearms for self protection is seeking a qualified HR professional.  This position is part of a team dedicated to providing HR, environmental, health and safety services to a progressive Lean Operating System based team.  Some of he core day to day responsibilities of this position include:

  • Helping to maintain and develop our Human Capitol Management system of record (Workday).
  • Strategic project participation and management
  • Workforce planning, pre-employment screening and recruiting/placement
  • Assist with Safety, Health and Environmental Compliance issues
  • Participate in the culture development of the workforce of a Lean Operating System
  • Associate relations, problem solving and relationship building.
  • Develop and track metrics for success
  • Team Building and Organizational Development
  • Manage the college recruiting and intern development program

Requirements

Qualified candidates should possess a minimum of 7-8 years of progressive and comprehensive HR Generalist experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment.  A bachelor's Degree in HT, Business Administration or a related field is necessary.  An MBA and certifications as an SPHR and/or SHRM-SCP would be a big plus.  A successful candidate will have experience in a challenging non-union manufacturing environment as a culture change agent and as an associate relationship builder.  Strong interpersonal and written communications , follow-up, problem solving and creative and intuitive thinking traits and skills are necessary.
