Reporting to the President, the HR Manager is our chief “people person” and has responsibility for all facets of the organization’s Human Resources practices and processes.  The goal is to promote the company culture and values, community engagement, and enable business success through recruitment, performance management, training & development, benefit administration, and compliance.    The HR manager must keep a working knowledge of all state and federal employment laws, including but not limited to; ACA reporting, FMLA guidelines, sexual harassment policies, and other procedures.  The HR Manager is a part time position.




  • Develop/maintain all company personnel policies with the help of the owners and the management of Williams Distributing
  • Work cooperatively with management and supervisors in recruiting; conducting pre-employment interviews and assisting in the execution of hiring and dismissal decisions of job candidates
  • Manage new employee orientations, onboarding and termination processes, and update all insurance and benefits programs as necessary
  • Develop/update annual performance reviews for salaried employees at Williams Distributing using PerformYard platform
  • Maintain and update Williams Distributing’s policy manual, as needed
  • Manage and review all employee benefits and work cooperatively with payroll to ensure accuracy
  • Manage all employee files and records related to benefits, claims, incident reports, etc.
  • Maintain and update employee job descriptions a minimum of every 3 years
  • Work cooperatively with managers and supervisors to implement a successful and workable Employee Assistance Program
  • Develop, maintain and update an employee attendance tracking system
  • Work with management team to develop training and development plans for all Williams employees
  • Assist management in collective bargaining agreement with Teamster Union 404
  • Act as Williams Distributing’s Consumer Awareness & Education Coordinator to address legislative and public concerns pertaining to our industry
  • Assist in the planning and execution of employee and retailer events, as needed
  • Act as liaison to the community organizations Williams Distributing works with, including but not limited to The United Way and The Jimmy Fund. 
  • Serve as a member of the safety committee. 
  • Schedule and create meeting agenda for monthly management meetings





  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Integrity, exceptional moral standards, and a high degree of character are required.
  • Previous experience in a Human Resources or similar role
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees, managers, and owners
  • Must have a proven track record of maintaining absolute confidentiality and resolving problems with discretion and sensitivity
  • Exceptional organizational skills are necessary
    • Superior verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to balance organizational needs, objectives, and employee advocacy
    • Must have a resolution and result oriented focus
    • Must be proficient in the use of technology to include: word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and email programs
