Job Details

Administer personnel and employee relations company programs. Represent and ensure unbiased, fair treatment of workers, including the completion of suchtasks as recordkeeping, effective managing of employee relations, compensation, risk management, recruitment, and benefits administration. Analyze thecompany's Human Resource needs under changing conditions and develop and recommend policies to satisfy those needs. Role model and demonstrate thecompany's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of others.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Formulate, organize, and make recommendations for improving policies and/or practices.
  • Uphold and enforce all Company policies, and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Keep abreast of current trends, practices, and labor laws.
  • Supports Company goals and implements the strategies necessary to achieve them.
  • Develops programs to enhance Company awareness on risk management including programs to reduce workers' compensation and general liability claims.Insure a safe work environment for associates and a safe shopping environment for customers.
  • Promote and assist in the development of associates for growth and promotion resulting in high retention and lowering turnover.
  • Provide guidance to supervision/department heads on problems originating from individual work situations.
  • Counsel management and associates on grievances and complaints and take appropriate steps to resolve.
  • Furnish Kroger with all required information and reports.
  • Promote a harassment free work environment insuring that all associates understand and comply with Company EEO policy.
  • Maintain best practices, insuring consistent and fair treatment of all associates in a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Serves as Company Representative in handling and investigating EEO, HRC, Sexual Harassment, Hostile Working Environment, OSHA, and Wage & Hourcomplaints.
  • Assists at corporate functions such as Employee Awards, Corporate Meetings, etc.
  • Responsible for professional and thorough investigation of all associate complaints filed under the Kroger Sexual Harassment and Hostile WorkingEnvironment policies consulting with the Director of Human Resources and Operations as necessary.
  • Compilation of all employee relation investigations and inquiries.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provides feedback to direct reports.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • 5 years of management experience or two years of Human Resources Management experience is required.
  • Excellent knowledge of state and federal laws for employment, workers' compensation, and EEOC.
  • Work well with people making decisions based on a fair and unbiased presentation of the facts.
  • Above average computer skills in Microsoft Office products and PDI.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills required.

Desired Previous Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • PHR Certification
  • Five years of Human Resources Management experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Company policies and procedures
