Universal Avionics Systems Corporation, an industry leader in avionics systems technology is looking for a Human Resources Manager for our Northwest Engineering Division located in Redmond, WA. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing and executing divisional human resources activities to drive organizational goals, and providing leadership, partnership, and support to the division and Human Resources team, ensuring achievement of business objectives by maximizing people initiatives and strategies. You will be joining a highly energetic and highly capable team of various engineering disciplines that pioneer and maintain the Universal Avionics product lines.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Human Resources team to ensure the effective development and implementation of programs and tools to drive organizational goals and objectives related to organizational development, employee relations, talent acquisition, workforce management, training and development, rewards and recognition, compensation and benefits, and legal compliance.
  • Provide effective, timely, proactive, clear, and audience-focused communications relating to human resources topics during all-hands, leadership, department, human resources sponsored meetings, and 1on1 meetings, and also through division-wide emails.
  • Provide training, coaching, and counsel to leaders and team members on solutions-focused people strategies, programs, policies and procedures, employment and labor laws.
  • Facilitate and support effective organizational development and design, including team dynamics, change management, and diversity to promote industry leadership and a fair and equitable work environment.
  • Act as the first point of contact for everything related to the leadership team and employee experience.
  • Manage the talent acquisition process to effectively identify, select, and onboard qualified individuals; ensure effective retention strategies to retain a talented workforce.
  • Collaborate with the divisional leadership team to ensure effective performance management strategies, leadership capabilities, and team member engagement to drive performance improvement.
  • Collaborate with leadership to provide coaching and guidance on workforce issues such as conflict resolution and performance and behavioral improvement.
  • Ensure compliance of all employment and labor laws through programs, practices, policies, investigations, training, and actions.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field, and five (5) or more years’ experience as a strong Human Resources Generalist in a small to mid-size company, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Current Human Resources Certification: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR
  • Ability to develop interpersonal relationships based on trust and credibility, and the effective execution of human resources practices; ability to effectively partner with leadership across divisions
  • Highly customer service-oriented; sense of urgency; high-level of personal integrity
  • Ability to collaborate as a strong team player with a commitment to solutions-oriented results
  • Ability to produce high quality work, demonstrate superior organizational skills, prioritize effectively, anticipate needs, act with discretion, and demonstrate initiative
  • Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to navigate and utilize various Human Resources computer applications, including HRIS, ATS, and Onboarding systems
  • Expert communicator; solutions and audience-focused approach
  • Strong ability to write professional correspondence and effectively communicate verbal information to other employees in English.
  • Ability to utilize communication skills to present, train, influence, and negotiate


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • Current SHRM-SCP certification


U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency status (“Green card”) is required, as Universal Avionics’ products and technology are controlled under U.S export laws including but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, Export Administration Regulations and the Export Administration Act (“Export Laws”).
