Job Details

Cedar Creek Psychiatric Hospital is an acute care psychiatric treatment facility located in St. John’s Michigan just 30 minutes north of Lansing. This new facility is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2017 and will serve both adult and adolescent populations in both inpatient and partial hospitalization settings. Cedar Creek is part of Universal Health Services (UHS), the largest facility-based behavioral health provider in the country. UHS owns and operates over 290 behavioral health facilities in 37 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico the U.S. Virgin Islands and the United Kingdom employing over 71,000 employees.   

We are currently seeking qualified applicants for a Human Resources Manager (HRM) to join our team. This position provides on-going HR oversight and consultation to the Cedar Creek management team. The HRM serves in a dual role as employee advocate and management liaison. Must be resourceful and flexible to meet the ever-changing needs of Cedar Creek Hospital. The HRM functions as an HR generalist and demonstrates service excellence and conveys professionalism at all times with strong motivation to achieve optimum results. This position reports to the facility CEO.

Education, Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree required. Master's Degree preferred. (SPHR or PHR certification highly preferred).

2. 5-8 years professional HR experience and 1-2 years management experience, preferably in healthcare.

3. Must have a strong HR generalist background.

4. Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws.

5. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)

6. HRIS experience needed, preferably Lawson.

7. Able to work collaboratively and effectively with the Cedar Creek management team to achieve good outcomes.

8. Must be responsive in managing issues that require timely management/oversight.

9. Must maintain sensitive employee information as confidential.
