Job Details

The Service Center Manager is assigned to the Employee Services Agency and responsible for setting up policy direction for service center staff and to coordinate consistency of practice and implementation of human resources transaction in the work of technical, supervisory and/or clerical staff within service centers.

There are ten Service Centers Countywide that provide human resources services to employees and implement, hire, separation and change requests as well as administer leave provisions. In addition, the Central Service Center is responsible to provide service and information to County Retirees.

The Service Center Manager is responsible to oversee the full scope of human resources transactions and ensure consistency of practice and implementation of human resources transactions. The Service Center Manager will act as the human resources point of contact for all the service centers and will be responsible for the electronic personnel action request forms and personnel files.


Some of the tasks the Service Center Manager is responsible for include:

  • Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards or regulations

  • Develop and implement service center policies or procedures

  • Train service center staff

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of personnel action forms and personnel files

Requirements

A qualified candidate would possess well rounded knowledge of Human Resources functions. The knowledge and abilities are typically acquired through training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Public Administration or related field and five (5) years of professional – level experience in the field of human resources. Experience in the public sector is desirable.
