Position Overview

The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the human resources function to include, but not limited to new hire on-boarding, employee departures, visa/immigration process, college and administrative recruitment.

Major Responsibilities/Activities

  • Prepares and sends offers of employment and runs background checks
  • Schedules and conducts the new hire onboarding/orientation for new hires
  • Schedules interviews and travel for candidates
  • Processes employee departures
  • Coordinates the visa process for all US employees (H-1B, L-1 and PERM Green Card)
  • Provides employee data as requested
  • Completes employment verifications
  • Coordinates the college recruitment process, including posting jobs at universities, conducting interviews, scheduling on-campus visits, and preparing materials
  • Support the administrative/executive assistant recruitment process
  • Coordinates the employee referral program
  • Coordinates the employee alumni program
  • Provides overall generalist support to the Human Resources department


Desired Education, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5 years HR experience with a focus on employee onboarding and recruitment
  • Discretion in handling sensitive/confidential information, strong ethics and ability to exercise good judgment
  • Resourceful, with ability to work well independently and with a team
  • Quick learner who takes initiative and can balance multiple priorities
  • Proven oral and written communications skills
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills including the ability to interpret data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
