Job Details

The Instructional Designer will work with the Talent Development Team to create learning modules (instructor-led, online, live web-based), instructor-led training guides, and supporting materials following an instructional design process. The Instructional Designer will use strong interpersonal, written, and visual communication skills to bring together text, images, video and audio to communicate and educate our employees, customers, and other stakeholders. The incumbent should also possess the facilitation skills necessary to demonstrate/lead their designs.

Program Design

  • Works with stakeholders at all levels to determine training and development needs
  • Design and develop specific programs to address established training and development needs and priorities
  • Works with Talent Development Team to develop and upgrade classes as needed to meet customer needs

Program Delivery

  • Delivers specific development programs on a semi-regular basis. Is accountable for effective program delivery

Benchmarking & Research

  • Identifies relevant “best practices” through benchmarking and research; recommends specific processes, tools, and methodologies to address priorities
  • Researches, develops, and applies state-of-the-art training and development technologies across all work

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or University in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Communications or equivalent experience in related areas, required.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in Instructional Design; must have demonstrated proficiency in curriculum and course design and development
  • Extensive knowledge of multi-media interactive authoring software.
  • Experience with PowerPoint, Articulate, Storyline, Captivate, Creative Suite, and Flash or related software highly desired
  • Strong knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS). Experience with Success Factors LMS is a plus
  • Must have strong ability to work with peers and management of all levels
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills needed for influencing, persuading, and negotiating
  • Must demonstrate an ability to develop, organize, and produce assigned projects within time-lines and established budgets
  • Demonstrated effective organizational and communication skills. Strong facilitation skills are a plus
  • This position may require up to 15% travel; the successful candidate will be willing and able to meet travel requirements
