Job Details

We are looking for a motivated, well-rounded HR Generalist who has demonstrated strength in the acquisition of IT and technical talent. As a true Generalist, the position will provide support in multiple HR disciplines, however the primary focus will be the acquisition of IT talent, while assisting in the acquisition of talent for a diverse group of other departments as needed.



Your responsibilities would include:

  • Serving as primary recruiter for the sourcing of IT and technical talent.

  • Maintaining an active pipeline of qualified candidates to ensure staffing needs are met in higher turnover departments.

  • Recruiting for multiple levels within the organization in a wide variety of different departments.

  • Ensuring consistency in hiring practices such as the posting of positions, assessments, hiring criteria, communications and informing union partners timely regarding affiliated openings.

  • Complying with and ensuring manager compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements as well as organizational policy regarding areas such as interviewing applicants and records retention.

  • Ensuring inclusive and timely communication with managers and candidates to ensure that managers are well informed, while supporting a positive, high touch applicant experience.

  • Making recommendations to improve the talent acquisition function such as appropriate applicant assessment tools; applicant assessment vendors; sourcing methods; job boards; career fairs, etc.

  • Tracking metrics such as resume flow, applicants, source of new hires, etc. in order to cost effectively improve the sourcing of quality candidates and improve recruitment practices.

  • Working closely with hiring managers to clearly identify job requirements and have them represented professionally in current job descriptions which you will maintain for all positions in the organization.

  • Proactively working with applicants and new hires to improve MPI’s online brand.

  • Coordinating and conducting new hire orientation and related onboarding activities.

  • Providing Human Resources Generalist support as needed in the areas of onboarding, performance management, employee relations, training and development, employee engagement events, and other related activities.

  • Making recommendations to increase the effectiveness or efficiency of the areas listed above.

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; minimum five (5) years progressive recruitment experience sourcing, assessing, screening and placing candidates in a corporate work environment; minimum two (2) years sourcing technology candidates.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of Human Resources experience.

  • Knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines. Knowledge of federal and state employment legislation including FMLA, CFRA, FLSA, ADA, EEOC.

  • Intermediate-Advanced proficiency with MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

  • Familiarity and experience using ATS and HRIS programs; knowledge of Ceridian ATS a plus.

  • Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations; analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Able to prioritize work, follow it through to completion and positively respond to changing priorities.

  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multitask.

  • Experience in both a union and non-union environment preferred.

  • Strong ethics and integrity, including the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

  • Sound judgment when making decisions and dealing with others.

  • Self-motivated, team player, who takes initiative, yet is flexible and thrives in a fast-paced, team environment.

  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees while inspiring respect and credibility.

  • Outstanding written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent grammar, punctuation, spelling, and business writing skills required.

  • Strong interpersonal communications skills, diplomatic and experienced in handling delicate situations with respect and professionalism.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for a corporate work environment.

  • Ability to work extended hours as required. Flexibility with schedule to meet the needs of applicants’ availability.

  • PHR, SHRM-CP or SPHR, SHRM-SCP certification a plus
