Job Details

This position functions as an HR Generalist with an emphasis in Labor Relations to provide administration, analysis, and negotiation of Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA), while cultivating ongoing relationships with members and Union Officials.

 

Responsibilities:

Advise and coach employees, supervisors and leaders in all areas of human resource management (talent acquisition, total rewards, compliance, transitions/acquisitions, employee/labor relations, etc.)
• Serve as a SME in CBA reviews; formulates, recommends and implements strategies and goals in the negotiation and management of all labor relation requirements:
o NLRB matters;
o Grievances, mediations, arbitrations;
o Any agreements to update or change any aspect of a CBA;
o CBA administration of wage, fringe and any other CBA economics;
• Deliver advice, counsel and training to employees and supervisors for day-to-day labor management actions and requirements for all project locations.
• Consults legal counsel as necessary.
• Develop and implement improvements to labor relations processes, systems and methods;
• Collaborate throughout the business and any subsidiaries to deliver advice, data and other information to create value to include the following areas:
o Bid and proposals
o Finance
o Payroll
o Contracts
o Legal
• Create and manage effective relations with labor unions and any other labor related entities and organizations.

• May assist in all other Human Resource Management areas.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

o 5-7 years in advising and coaching employees, supervisors, leaders
o Demonstrable ability to integrate, synthesize and draw conclusions from information and data; and to then advise others.
o 2 years of related experience in the negotiations of CBAs
o Labor Relations Management within a federal government contracting organization.
o Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills – create complex formulas to provide data analysis
o Preferable
• Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations or related area; experience can substitute for the degree.
• Experience in National Labor Relations Act; Service Contract/Davis Bacon Act.

Preferable: SPHR, SCP or GPHR.
