Background: We are searching for a professional in HR to join the Leadership and Employee Development Division in the role of Leadership Development and Diversity and Inclusion Sr. Specialist. 

 

The team: The Leadership and Employee Development Division (HRD/LDV) focuses on formulating and implementing programs to develop the Bank's leadership and employee skills capacity in direct response to the needs of the strategic business areas. The Human Resources Department (HRD) is responsible for the administration and development of the human resources of the Bank Group. It leads the implementation of the Human Capital Strategy and its deliverables, creating and implementing programs and methodologies in direct support of the Bank’s results-based business model, and focusing on the development of the Bank’s talent and technical skills capacity.

 

What you will do

 

You will serve as the focal point for the IDB Group on leadership themes of leadership development as well as organizational diversity and inclusion issues and will report to the Division Chief in Leadership and Employee Development in Human Resources.

 

Diversity:

  • Lead the development of the Bank's D&I agenda as part of the implementation of our HR Strategy and coordinate the IDB Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Group.
  • Provide advice and intellectual leadership on issues related to: increasing representation of women, under-represented nationalities and races, persons with disabilities and other minorities.
  • Build relationships and advise internal partners to ensure that D&I plans are developed and implemented across HQ and COFs.
  • Collaborate and provide strategic direction to Employee Resource Groups.
  • Strategize and lead internal communication on D&I. Act as organizational focal point on staff surveys (D&I and engagement). 
  • Lead implementation of D&I programs, organizes events and speakers to promote D&I across the organization and engages in special initiatives to support D&I such as the Gender EDGE Certification. 
  • Design and deliver training related to workplace inclusion, unconscious bias and cultural competence.

Leadership Development:

  • Lead the design and delivery of the “Living Our Values at Work” programs.
  • Work across the LDV division to support leadership programs in a variety of areas. 
  • Collaborate with HRD staff and partners to design and deliver effective, inclusive and cost-efficient learning solutions and on demand courses and presentations for staff in Headquarters and Country offices. This includes development of training materials, and other learning tools using a client-focused project management approach and documenting and reporting results. 
  • Design and analyze the results of evaluations, and then use results for continuous improvement of HRD/LDV deliverables. Create and implement communication and engagement strategies before, during and after learning interventions.

 

 

Requirements

Education: Master's degree(s) in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development or related field. 
   
Experience: A minimum of 5 years (6 preferred) of relevant Human Resources experience in a multinational business environment as a Generalist or Business Partner role in the following areas: Diversity and Inclusion themes; Leadership Development - experience in design and deployment of learning programs; HR programs - design and/or administration; workforce planning; client advisory; HR policy implementation or organizational development. Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
   
Languages:
 You are proficient in English and a second IDB official language (Spanish highly desirable). Working knowledge of French and Portuguese is useful.
   
Systems: Proficiency with HR systems as well as understanding of MS Office Package.
