Job Details

Age of Learning Inc. is looking for an L&D Specialist/HR Generalist with learning and development experience plus strong HR acumen.  A Generalist that knows how to achieve results that make a real impact in the company.  You will be required to utilize your problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.  This role is instrumental in guiding employees and managers on Age of Learning policies and procedures, while leading the HR team as it grows into a true strategic partner in all HR functional areas.

A Can-Do Attitude as you:

  • Review, evaluate, recommend changes, and modify existing and proposed learning and development and performance management programs.
  • Conduct needs assessments to ensure consistency in training methods across all business units.
  • Work with HR Business Partners, managers and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and how it will affect business initiatives and technologies.
  • Create training content and outline appropriate instructional methods to meet company needs.
  • Conduct continuous training sessions and track when and who has been trained.
  • Perform any necessary administrative support to ensure training needs are met, including, but not limited to: reserving appropriate training space, preparing materials, etc.
  • Recommend innovative approaches, policies and procedures that will result in continual improvements in performance management and learning and development.
  • Facilitate and assist in the continuous effort to enhance the onboarding process and new hire experience. Conduct new-employee orientations and onboarding program events.
  • Streamline the offboarding process. Conduct exit interviews and exit analyses to provide themes that can be used to improve the employee experience.
  • Develop and maintain HR metrics: analyze business data to identify trends and recommend solutions to improve employee engagement, performance, compensation, and retention.
  • Handle ad hoc projects as needs arise.

Requirements

At a minimum we require that you have:


You will have an edge if you have:

Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification or Higher

  • Experience working within an LMS
  • A strong working knowledge of power point, database and spreadsheet programs, particularly MS Office
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to demonstrate and handle multiple tasks accurately and efficiently. Must be willing to take initiative
  • The desire to learn and go “above and beyond” is an absolute must!
  • Understanding of, and ability to apply, established HR practices and procedures
  • Understanding of, and ability to apply, federal, state and local employment laws
  • A proven ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and decision making skills
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills. Ability to facilitate light training courses
  • Four-year college degree or relevant Human Resources certification
  • 3-5 years in HR Generalist position
