The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a full-time Learning and Development Specialist to join our team. The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for training across the organization, from creating and updating materials to training delivery to post-training follow up. Working alongside veteran colleagues who act as subject matter experts, the Learning and Development Specialist will leverage his/her process-focused background to deliver effective training for new hires, as well as conduct continued professional development sessions for current employees as new technologies and processes are implemented across the organization.


In addition to training, the Learning and Development Specialist will also be responsible for spearheading the organizations continuous process improvement initiatives. The role will continually identify how we can improve upon our existing processes, where we can remove unnecessary barriers, and what technologies can be used to make us more efficient, all the while maintaining the quality work output and service our clients have come to expect.


The Learning and Development Specialist reports directly to the CEO and will work in close partnership with the Director, People & Culture as well as a part-time P&C resource to form our 3-person Organizational Development team. The role is based in our Los Angeles office and requires, at minimum, bi-quarterly visits to our 2 other locations in Seattle and Las Vegas.



  • Develop minimum skill requirements for all functions within the organization
  • Evaluate all processes utilized by the organization on a continual basis
  • Working with process owners, develop and implement more efficient processes
  • Through direct visits or via other methods, determine best in class practices
  • Devise and implement a vehicle for measuring organization’s performance
  • Implement training to transfer required knowledge to team members
  • Continuously assess team members to ensure they meet minimum skill requirements
  • Assist in the recruitment of new members for the organization


Position Requirements

  • Education: 4-year degree required, advanced degree(s) preferred
  • Experience: minimum of 5 years of business experience
  • Proven business acumen and strong decision-making skills
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent verbal and training skills with an innate ability to distill complex and/or technical concepts in an easy to understand way
  • Experience in professional presentations, comfortable speaking in front of large groups
  • Proficiency with eLearning software a plus
  • Well-developed written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Self-reliant, self-directed, independent thinker who is able to hold a credible presence at an executive level
  • A team player
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
