Reports To:VP, Strategic Initiatives

Location: San Francisco, CA

Carbon Lighthouse is looking for a Learning & Development professional to design and implement our learning programs. This is an exciting opportunity for you to get in on the ground floor of creating a learning program within a company that highly values growth through training and coaching as a path to company-wide success.

In this role, you will be responsible for the creation of customized training and development programs. You will work closely with the heads of each team to design learning pathways for different roles, develop and/or curate trainings appropriate to the needs of the company, and have ownership over the onboarding training of new team members.

You will be knowledgeable about the science of adult learning, have experience with training and/or coaching, and you are excited to build a learning program that meets our specific cultural and technical needs.

Your role will be based out of San Francisco and requires occasional travel to New York City.

  • End-to-end design, facilitation, coordination, and management of learning programs, including training for new staff, and ongoing development for managers and all other staff

  • Consulting with managers and executives to identify and assess training needs and opportunities, and to develop and/or curate trainings to meet those needs.

  • Responsible for the selection and maintenance of a Learning Management System

  • Contribute to Company Retreat training sessions on an annual basis

  • Track results of the training program through employee engagement surveys, surveys and interviews of trainees, and/or objective outcomes as appropriate.


Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in L&D management, training delivery, instructional design, professional coaching, or equivalent

  • Track record of developing and/or running successful training programs with quantified results

  • Demonstrated understanding of best-in-class teaching/coaching techniques for adult learners

  • Strong project management skills such as planning, documentation, execution and implementation - detail oriented, tracks tasks and handles multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent scripting and storytelling skills

  • A growth mindset and a passion for helping people continuously improve

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Organizational Behavior, Psychology, Training//Development, Teaching, Business, or related field

  • Certification in advanced courses related to training, coaching, or equivalent

  • Experience working with/in technology companies
