Job Details

Oversees sourcing and recruitment activities for classified core and agency clinical positions in both inpatient and ambulatory operations.  Provides program leadership to recruiters, hiring authorities, institutional leaders, and applicants.  Maintains in-depth content expertise in the design, development and implementation of recruitment and sourcing programs, policies and practices.  Provides day-to-day supervision of clinical recruitment team and readily assumes leadership responsibilities and functions autonomously as required.

- Directs a functional recruiter/sourcing team in a coordinated and informed effort to meet recruitment service levels expectations for departmental customers. Supervises recruiters and support staff and provides consultation, guidance and direction in recruitment.
- Maintains strong relationships with key customers and institutional leadership to ensure a clear understanding of UTMB’s direction and provide required outcomes.
- Stays current with effective sourcing practices and works with staff to improve cost, quality, and cycle time.
- Leads project management, assigns special projects, and involves staff in varied activities.
- Provides training, gives performance feedback; and participates in staffing decisions related to hiring.
- Liaisons with HR Employee Relations and Compensation Consultants to share policy or data changes with the recruitment and sourcing group. Works with HR Business Intelligence on data reporting and analytics.
- Maintains departmental budget on a monthly basis, completes monthly variance reports, and works to develop forecasting and budget decisions.
- Actively involved in marketing decisions and works directly with recruitment advertising vendor.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a clinical healthcare-related field and 6 years of directly-related exempt level experience in human resources, nursing, clinical practice and/or healthcare management. Experience managing direct reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

-SPHR or GPHR HR Certification

- Three years directly-related exempt level experience in human resources and recruiting.

- Master's Degree in nursing or related field

- Working knowledge of Human Resources and employment law
- Experience in nursing, clinical practice and/or healthcare management
- Strong partnership and in-depth understanding of client’s business and needs
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Strategic level of impact and influence with customers
- Leadership consulting and coaching skills
- High ability to work with divergent ideas to gain consensus
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to provide two or more options for problem-solving and to provide strategic problem-solving direction to other HR consultants and customers
- Proficient use of personal computers and general office applications
Excel, Microsoft Outlook electronic mail, Vision and Microsoft Project
- Supervisory/leadership experience
- Strong project management skills across multiple customer groups
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects and prioritize work
