Manager, Compensation and Benefits

We are currently seeking a Manager of Compensation and Benefits for our Hagerstown, Maryland location. Under the general direction of the Executive Director, Human Resources, the Manager of Compensation and Benefits oversees the administration of the wage and salary and benefit programs for Meritus Medical Center including but not limited to job evaluation, job classification/reclassification, salary structures, health and welfare benefit plans and retirement savings plans. They will develop and implement operational plans that are in alignment with organizational strategic goals and the HR department strategic/operational plan, and collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure that time, quality, financial, and satisfaction/engagement goals are met. Conducts analysis of compensation within the organization, oversees competitive analysis, merit increases and salary structure and provides recommendation to senior leadership to ensure appropriate compensation practices across the organization and all departments. Participates in national and state wage and benefit surveys, assesses the competitiveness of wage and benefit plans, and recommends plan changes and prepares budget recommendations based on findings. Works closely with the Benefit Consultant on plan design, population health initiatives and develops an overall comprehensive benefit program for employees of Meritus Medical Center. Designs and implements effective communication strategies to assure maximum understanding and appreciation of the total value of compensation and benefit programs and practices.

This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. National Compensation CCP and/or Benefits certification CEBS, SHRM-CP or HRCI-PHR (s) preferred. Five to seven years of exempt level Human Resources experience in the area of Compensation and Benefits, and a minimum of two years of management/supervisory experience is required. Previous management experience in a health care environment is preferred.
