Job Details

Plans, coordinates and administers the compensation and benefit functions for Takasago International Corp (USA). Understands and oversees the payroll function to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee pay.

  • Administers the employee benefit programs; recommend and/or supports the implementation of benefits, plan revisions which are cost effective and consistent with benefit trends and company objectives.
  • Assists in the design, evaluation and modification of the organization’s benefits programs to ensure they remain current, competitive and in compliance with legal requirements, and meets the need of the employee population.
  • Directs the preparation and distribution of written and verbal information to inform employees of benefits, compensation, and personnel related policies and programs.
  • Ensures policies, programs and practices comply with the provisions of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA, fulfilling all reporting requirements of relevant government rules and regulations.
  • Assists employees with issues relating to benefits and billing issues; act as liaison between insurance companies, brokers and employees for all benefit programs.
  • Coordinates open enrollment meetings, employee notifications and conducts new employee orientations.
  • Updates and maintains accurate benefit information on Paylocity system and related benefit vendors.
  • Reconciles and processes all benefit program invoices and completes quarterly audits.
  • Determines eligibility and compensation benefits, processes documentation and monitors activity relating to Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Salary Continuation and FMLA.
  • Manages duties relating to benefits for new hires and terminated employees. Collects information for annual benefit statements, auditors, profit sharing plan, year-end processing of employer contribution and total compensation statements to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Responsible for all employee benefit communications and government reporting requirements to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations relating to employee benefit programs.
  • Prepares detailed job descriptions and salary administration program to ensure external competitiveness and internal equity.
  • Analyze compensation policies, regulations, and prevailing salary rates to develop competitive compensation plan. Ensures competitive market rates are maintained based on current economic conditions, the competitive labor market and industry market surveys.
  • Participates in and analyze compensation surveys, as well as other available competitor information to ensure competitive market based compensation. Assist in developing compensation systems by designing programs and working with the divisions to implement changes and monitor the program.
  • Analyzes data and prepares compensation reports for management. Acts as a point of contact and consultant for compensation issues.
  • Manages the Payroll function and serves as backup when Payroll Administrator is out on PTO, leave or related absences. Understands basic payroll process and laws.


  • Bachelor Degree in business, finance or human resources preferred
  • 7 years of related work experience within Human Resources
  • 5 years of experience in benefit administration and compensation
  • Experience in Paylocity a plus
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal rules and regulations required.
  • Benefits administration experience in a mid to large size company (500+ employees) preferred
  • Prior experience in administering 401K and pension plans - preparation of compliance reporting and plan year end filing
