Job Details

The Manager, Corporate Human Resources is responsible for contributing to designing, revising, implementing, and/or supporting the administration of Corporate Global HR functions with a focus in the area of compensation.  Duties include, but are not limited to:  Global compensation program management and administration,   including grading, salary ranges, philosophy/ guidelines, bonus, annual review cycle activities, training, etc.;  Learning & Development proposals and plans including leading a related cross-divisional team;  Company Survey results analysis and communications;  Community and Employee Engagement activities; Global Performance Management; and other areas as required.  Duties include formulating, recommending, and delivering proposals for various Human Resources functions consistent with the Company’s Global strategic direction.  Position manages one direct report responsible for global database, communications activities, training coordination, etc.
 
The individual must possess an in-depth knowledge of human resource laws, best practices and industry standards. This individual must also possess a strong working knowledge of all service areas including compensation, training, performance management, succession planning, employee relations, etc. and be hands on. 
 
  • Partnering with Parent Company, monitors industry trends and investigates/proposes and implements schemes, structures and status changes of local and global compensation including global grading structure, salary structure, incentives and related programs to maintain competitiveness with the market, aligned with related Group companies, and to be cost effective.  
  • Must have a good understanding of broad-based compensation programs, pay for performance philosophy, HR program lifecycle. 
  • Program manage the design, implementation, communication and administration of competitive compensation programs that align with the business strategy, including annual performance review process, corporate bonus programs, recognition, service awards, sales compensation structure, competitive assessment, and other programs as identified. 
  • Support the implementation, and maintenance of compensation tools and systems. 
  • Conducts salary surveys, establishes and maintains salary structures and job families, reviews current labor market trends/issues, and recommends changes to ensure ongoing competitiveness of pay programs. 
  • Designs, supports and/or contributes to the  review, implementation, and delivery of global HR tools and/or programs such as:  Global Grading, Global Performance Management, Succession Planning and Talent Development, Career Paths, and other global HR projects. 
  • Lead a cross-divisional team/sub-team focused on Learning & Development; propose a strategy for all levels of employees. 
  • Develop, implement and lead communication and training programs that are aligned with the corporate culture and enhance employee engagement and management development. 
  • Annually, manage the Hitachi Global Survey, analyze results, draft a presentation, and communicate a strategy, inclusive of trends and action plans, to the Executive Team and/or all employees.  Manage follow-up activities. 
  • Manage and/or participates in Human Resources projects or conducts special tasks as required.
  • Coordinates company involvement in Hitachi employee activities, and/or community activities.
 
 
 

Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor’s degree required in human resources, business administration or any equivalent degree. 
     

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Three (3) years compensation specialization required with five (5) plus years of HR experience.
  2. Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred.      
 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

  1. Analyze existing or proposed compensation policies, practices and procedures and implement changes and improvements.
  2. Ability to communicate proactively and interact with Parent Company and local senior management, executives, managers, employees, customers, vendors, or other related parties.
  3. Ability to negotiate and/or influence others related to matters of significance to the organization.
  4. Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a high sense of urgency.
  5. Collaborate with other HR functional partners to execute human resources strategies and annual initiatives (compensation, benefits, employee engagement, performance management and training & development) to meet business objectives and support business growth.
  6. Ability to handle private and confidential information in accordance with company’s interest and policies, legal requirements, and business ethics.
  7. High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.  Deep interest in analyzing and using data to drive sound decision-making.
    Strong written and verbal communication skills; and effective delivery of presentations to large groups.
    Ability to work effectively with management and to effectively manage employees; and ability to convey a positive and professional image.
  8. Workday® HRMS  software experience a plus.
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  1. Ability to travel to offices in and outside of the country. 5% - 10% Travel; minimum 5% required.
  2. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple simultaneous deadlines.
