Puget Sound Energy’s Human Resources Department is looking for a Manager Human Resources to join our team! This person will be responsible for managing a five person HR Advisory team that provides company-wide support with a focus on employee and labor relations. The Manager Human Resources will assure compliance with all related laws, company policies, the ethics code and collective bargaining agreements. He or she will coordinate and facilitate the resolution of grievances and general contract interpretation issues. This role will be responsible for guiding management decision-making and helping resolve complex employee relations issues.


This position is a key member of the HR leadership team to create and implement people strategies and work force plans that support the business and that align with broader corporate people management and culture goals. The Manager, Human Resources must thoroughly understand all the HR services and processes delivered to the business. They will work closely with the business leaders to coordinate activities that build a culture of safety and trust while improving our ability to attract and retain talent, enable business transformation efforts and improve leader performance across the organization. This position supports performance improvement by championing the performance management process to ensure effective implementation and ongoing support while providing coaching and counseling to all levels of leadership on how to improve individual performance.


The ideal candidate will also be able to manage process improvement initiatives that contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of Human Resources processes as we transform HR and implement new technology. We are looking for someone with the ability to capture and report relevant metrics, improve effectiveness and identify trends that drive change and measure progress.

  • BA or BS in related field and 8 years progressive experience in human resources including generalist experience is required.
  • Minimum 3 years experience leading and/or directly supervising others.
  • Demonstrated strong ability to influence outcomes
  • Strategy development and implementation experience is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of HR practices and EEO/AA/DOT Leaves, employment, and labor laws, regulations and guidelines.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with relevant HRIS technology.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels within an organization and to work in a fast paced, professional environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills



  • MBA or graduate degree in HR-related field.
  • Labor relations experience
