Our Associates are paramount to the Company's success. The Manager, Human Resources will support our leadership in all components of attracting, developing, and retaining talent.
 
The Human Resources Manager is accountable for providing Human Resources support for all associates and management through execution of Human Resources strategy, effective organizational design and administration of related processes, and the consultation, facilitation and resolution of employee relations matters.
 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
  • Supervise a team of direct reports
  • Sets best practices for life cycle of employment including background checks, stay interviews, exit interviews, unemployment claims processes, and department succession plans and talent management plans that support business goals
  • Provide strategic HR partnership to the site leadership team to develop strategic plan and goals & objectives aligned to Guitar Center
  • Analyzes people related metrics, trends and root causes to develop and implement workforce solutions that balance HR risks and cost management
  • Partners with managers in core people processes including performance management, salary review, job evaluation, identification of organizational learning needs, policy and procedure interpretation, performance management, disciplinary counsel, conflict management, employee development, and termination)
  • Pro-actively partner with the established organizational structure to drive superior performance
  • Responsible for EEO claims and drafting position statements as well as gathering documentation
  • Collaborate with Support Center to ensure effective execution of all HR initiatives are well coordinated (e.g. Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, and HRIS processes/programs)
  • Perform investigations when required, and prepare supporting written documentation
  • Implements corporate-driven HR programs, leads site HR service delivery 
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (or 4 years of equivalent work experience), preferably in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • 10 years of relevant work experience
  • 10 years of experience leading teams
  • 10 years of employee relations/coaching experience
  • 10 years of experience coordinating compliance decisions
  • Skilled knowledge of Federal and State employment laws, investigation skills
  • Skilled HR technical knowledge in EEO, FLSA, AA, FMLA, CFRA, ADA, unemployment, and worker's compensation
