Job Details

This position is responsible for the entirety of the payroll function supporting approximately 2,600 active JEA and SJRPP employees and includes retirement payment processing for SJRPP retirees. This position requires extensive knowledge and skills in the areas of wages, accounting, tax, time and attendance, and technology as it relates to payroll. The incumbent must have the ability to effectively lead a small team of trained specialists in conducting a highly visible and dynamic process on a bi-weekly basis with an extreme level of expected accuracy.


Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline; APA certification preferred


Experience: Eight (8) or more years of related payroll experience required; preferably in a utility or public works environment including experience with civil service regulations and collective bargaining agreements.
