Eckert Seamans Chermin & Merlott is seeking an Office Manager for its Philadelphia and Wilmington offices. Candidates must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to multitask.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the managing partner and senior administrative staff to ensure the smooth function of daily operations while enforcing all firm policies and procedures.
  • In conjunction with the human resources department, oversee HR functions including, recruitment, orientation, compliance, performance management, employee relations and disciplinary actions.
  • Oversee office facilities, equipment & supplies with guidance of facilities manager.
  • Manage marketing material and projects as directed by marketing department; organize and coordinate special office and firm functions.
  • Responsible for maintenance of checking and petty cash accounts, ensure compliance with firm accounting, billing and timekeeping practices.
  • Liaison to information systems and central filing.


  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university; or at least 3 years of experience in office management or administrative background; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work in a professional and collegial manner with attorneys, paralegals and administrative staff.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Previous law firm experience is a plus
  • Experience with Elite is a plus
