Position Summary

 

Reporting to the head of Talent & Organizational Development, the Director, Organizational Design & Development will partner with the businesses to identify needs, and design and develop solutions focused on organizational structure and design utilizing proven OD methods and assess and evaluate their effectiveness.  He or she will also work closely with the business and HR practitioners in this capacity.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead development of an organizational strategy and approach around organizational structure and design
  • Partner with HR leadership and senior leaders across the organization on high profile operating model and organizational design initiatives
  • Ensure that systems and processes are aligned/streamlined to efficiently align with the organizational strategy and approach and effectively meet the needs of the business
  • Transfer knowledge to HR and the businesses to facilitate capability-building and sustained behavior change
  • Consult with multiples levels of leadership across diverse functions
  • Analyze data to develop integrated solutions that span organizational boundaries (e.g., Divisions, Strategy, Finance, etc.)
  • Coordinate consensus and/or agreement across matrixed functions, regions, and business
  • As required, manage and/or coordinate with external vendors/consultants who will support the enabling of large-scale organizational deployment of major programs
  • Benchmark best practices for development and deployment of tools and systems.

 

Qualifications

 

Education & Experience

 

  • Seven plus years of organizational design development experience in a business setting, ideally in the technology / software industry OR consulting experience.
  • Ten to twelve years of related experience in multinational companies.
  • BS or BA minimum; Master’s Degree or PhD preferred in related discipline(s)

 

Required Skills

 

  • Previous or present experience in an OD/HRD function, demonstrating achievement in creating and delivering clear and relevant value for the business around organizational design and development
  • Experience working within a complex US-based global, multi-cultural organization
  • Proven ability to deliver solutions within dynamic environments undergoing change
  • Experience in organizational modeling, diagnostics, consultation, leading and delivering projects
  • Practical experience using evaluation methodologies, analytics, KPIs and reporting dashboards, to show value/impact of organizational design efforts
  • Ability to build close relationships within our global HR team to enable the level of partnership necessary to optimize results, while avoiding unnecessary duplication of activity
  • Develop, administer and ensure continuous enhancements to key OD instruments and processes
  • Develop cost-effective, high-impact solutions that address business critical business issues
  • Travel - 20%
